A session of the National Assembly shall begin on the first meeting of the Assembly summoned under article 107 and, unless sooner dissolved under clause (2)(b) article 110 or article 111, continue for a period of five years thereafter. 2. The National Assembly shall stand dissolved- 3. a. subject to clause (3), on the day next following the end of the period of five years referred to in clause (1); b. where a general election is held before the period of five years referred to in clause (1), on the day next following the declaration of the results of the election; or c. in accordance with article 110 or article 111. Subject to article 109, each succeeding meeting of the National Assembly after the first meeting of the Assembly shall be held at such place and commence at such time as the Speaker may determine or as may be prescribed by the Standing Orders. 109. The President may, at any time by Proclamation published in the Gazette, summon a meeting of the National Assembly. 110. 1. The President may dissolve the National Assembly in accordance with this article. 2. Subject to clause (5), the President may, not more than once during a term of office of the President, for any reason which the President considers it to be in the national interest so to do, after giving seven days notice to the Speaker, by Proclamation published in the Gazette, dissolve the National Assembly and the Assembly shall stand dissolved on the day next following the publication of the Proclamation.
