1008 T H E PALESTINE GAZETTE 28th September, 1936 to be inserted therein all reasonable provisions for the prevention of recurrence of any such offence, he shall be deemed to have failed to exercise his rights under the foregoing, provisions of this section; and any such offence committed during the subsistence of the subsequent lease or contract shall be deemed for the purpose of this section to have been committed during the subsistence of the previous lease or contract. Permitting child to reside in brothel. 165. A n y person having the custody or care of a child between the ages of two and sixteen years who allows the child to reside i n or frequent a brothel is guilty of a misdemeanour and is liable to imprisonment for six months, or to a fine of twenty-five pounds. Living on earnings of prostitute. 166. —(1) A n y male person who lives wholly or i n part on the earnings as a prostitute of a female is guilty of a misdemeanour. (2) Where a male person is proved to live w i t h or to be habitually i n the company of a prostitute, or is proved to have exercised control or influence over the movements of a prostitute i n such manner as to show that he is aiding, abetting or compelling her prostitution w i t h any other person or generally, he shall, unless he can satisfy the court to the contrary, be deemed to be knowingly living on the earnings of a prostitute. Solicitation. 167. —(1) A n y person who, by word or gesture, solicits for immoral purposes any person who is i n a public place, is guilty of a misdemeanour and is liable to imprisonment for one month or to a fine of five pounds. (2) The parent or guardian of a child whether male or female under the age of sixteen years, or any other person entrusted w i t h the charge or care of such child, who aids or abets such child to commit the offence mentioned i n this section, is guilty of a misdemeanour and is liable to imprisonment for six months or to a fine of fifty pounds. Indecent suggestions. Male entering women's apartments in female dress. Detention with intent or in brothel. .168. A n y person who addresses indecent suggestions to any person under the age of sixteen years or to any female is guilty of a misdemeanour and is liable to imprisonment for one month. 169. A n y male person who i n female dress enters an apartment reserved for women is guilty of a misdemeanour and is liable to imprisonment for one year. 170. A n y person who detains any woman against her w i l l — ( a ) i n or upon any premises w i t h intent that she may have unlawful sexual intercourse w i t h any m a n , whether any particular man or generally ; or ( b ) i n any brothel; is guilty of a misdemeanour two years. Constructive detention by withholding clothes. and is liable to imprisonment for 171. —(1) W h e n a woman is i n or upon any premises for the purpose of having any unlawful sexual intercourse or is i n any brothel, a person shall be deemed to detain such woman i n or upon such premises or i n such brothel, if, w i t h intent to compel or induce her to remain i n or upon such premises or i n such brothel, he withholds from such woman any wearing apparel or other property belonging to her, or where wearing apparel has been lent or otherwise supplied to such woman by or by the directions of such person, he threatens such woman w i t h legal proceedings if she takes away w i t h her the wearing apparel so lent or supplied.
