( e ) is found wandering i n or upon or near any premises, or
in any road or highway or any place adjacent thereto, or i n
any public place at such time and under such circumstances
as to lead to the conclusion that he is there for an illegal or
disorderly purpose ;
is guilty of a misdemeanour and is liable for the first offence to
imprisonment for one month, and for any subsequent offence to
imprisonment for one year.
Bringing
contempt on
uniform.
194. A n y person who, not being a person serving i n the M i l t a r y
Forces or i n the Police Forces of Palestine, wears the uniform
of any of these forces, or any dress having the appearance or
bearing any of the regimental or other distinctive marks of any
such uniform, i n such manner or i n such circumstances as to be
likely to bring contempt on that uniform, or employs any other
person so to wear such uniform or dress, is guilty of a misdemeanour and is liable to imprisonment for three months or to
a fine of ten pounds.
Negligent act
likely to spread
infection of
195. A n y person who unlawfully or negligently does any act
which is, and which he knows or has reason to believe to be, likely
to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life, is guilty
of a misdemeanour.
Sale of things
unfit for food
or drink.
196. —(1) A n y person who sells as food or drink, or has i n his
possession w i t h intent to sell it as food or drink, any article w h i c h
has been rendered or has become noxious, or is i n a state unfit for
food or drink, knowing or having reason to believe that the same
is noxious as food or drink, or is i n a state unfit for food or drink,
is guilty of a misdemeanour and is liable to imprisonment for
one year.
Adulteration of
food or drink
intended for sale.
(2) A n y person who adulterates
so as to make such article noxious,
or knowing it to be likely that the
drink, is guilty of a misdemeanour
for one year.
Selling food
which is unclean.
197. A n y person who being a vendor by retail of articles of
food or drink, or being the keeper of a hotel, lodging house,
restaurant or other establishment for the sale of food or drink to be
consumed on the premises—
any article of food or drink
intending to sell such article
same w i l l be sold as food or
and is liable to imprisonment
( a ) fails to preserve the cleanliness of the articles of food or
drink supplied by h i m ; or
( b ) contravenes any by-law or regulation of the Government
or any municipal authority concerning public health;
is guilty of a contravention and is liable to imprisonment for one
week or to a fine of five pounds ; and i n case of a second or other
offence, is guilty of a misdemeanour and is liable to imprisonment
for fifteen days and to a fine of ten pounds.
The court convicting the offender may order the destruction of
any articles of food or drink unfit for food.
F o u l i n g water.
!98. A n y person who corrupts or fouls the water of any spring,
stream, well, tank, reservoir or place, so as to render it less fit for
the purpose for which it is ordinarily used, is guilty of a misdemeanour and is liable to imprisonment for six months.
Fouling air.
199. A n y person who voluntarily vitiates the atmosphere i n
any place so as to make it noxious to the health of persons i n
general dwelling or carrying on business in the neighbourhood or
passing along a public way, is guilty of a misdemeanour,
