A person who destroys, erases, conceals or alters personal data in a way that is contrary to this Law, commits an offence. Une personne qui détruit, efface, dissimule ou altère les données à caractère personnel d’une manière contraire à la présente loi, commet une infraction. Iyo abihamijwe n’urukiko, ahanishwa igifungo kitari munsi y’imyaka itatu (3) ariko kitarenze imyaka itanu (5) n’ihazabu y’amafaranga y’u Rwanda atari munsi ya miliyoni zirindwi (7.000.000 FRW) ariko atarenze miliyoni icumi (10.000.000 FRW) cyangwa kimwe muri ibyo bihano. Upon conviction, he or she is liable to an imprisonment of not less than three (3) years but not more than five (5) years and a fine of not less than seven million Rwandan francs (RWF 7,000,000) but not more than ten million Rwandan francs (RWF 10,000,000) or one of these penalties.
