Following the appeal to the Court of Cassation in case no. 2011/99325 dated May 26,
2011 relating to the filtering of pornographic sites, the Court's decision was made public
today in favor of the Tunisian Internet Agency (ATI), thus accepting the argument on the
merits presented by our lawyers. Consequently, the case is referred back to the Tunis
Court of Appeal.

The ATI would like to point out that to date, and since June 14, 2011, its technical
services have only been able to apply the filtering of said sites listed by Smartfilter® , only
for establishments and public community networks. As for the five Internet service
providers, all attempts to apply the judgment resulted in serious deteriorations in the
quality of service (fluidity of Internet traffic at the transit node).
Furthermore, the ATI would like to thank all those who have supported it since the
revolution, and reiterates its determination to continue working for the development of the
Internet in Tunisia, and to act as an IXP (Point of Internet Exchange), in a transparent and
neutral manner towards everyone.
