Case Summary: The Plaintiff sued the Defendant for breach of contract arising from an Interconnection Agreement between them. After establishing that the +256 477 code was not assigned to South Sudan and that it was local, the court found that the computations by the Plaintiff were correct and therefore awarded the Plaintiff genera damages

Case Significance: The court urged for the establishment of the Uganda Telecommunication Tribunal under section 75 of the Uganda Communications Act to assist in technical disputes like the one the court had determined.

Notes: Both parties were telecommunication companies and had entered into an agreement on the fees and terms by which they would interconnect their networks. In its analysis, the court determined that the code +256 47 was not assigned to South Sudan and that the rates for that code were locally terminated thus set at UShs. 100.
