"Possession" :— (a) " T o be i n possession of" or "to have i n his possession" includes not only having a thing i n one's own control and custody, but also having control of a t h i n g i n the custody of another person or having control of a thing i n any place whether belonging to or occupied by oneself or not. (b) If there are two or more persons and any one or more of them w i t h the knowledge and consent of the rest has or have anything i n his or their custody or possession, it shall be deemed and taken to be i n the custody and possession of each and all of them. " P r o p e r t y " includes everything animate capable of being the subject of ownership. or inanimate "Public"refers not only to all persons w i t h i n Palestine, but also to the persons inhabiting or using any particular place, or any number of such persons, and also to such inde­ terminate persons as may happen to be affected by the conduct i n respect to which such expression is used. " P u b l i c w a y " includes any highway, market-place, square, street, bridge or other way which is lawfully used by the public. " P u b l i c place" or "public premises" includes any public way and building, place or conveyance to w h i c h , for the time being, the public are entitled or permitted to have access, either without any condition or upon condition of making any payment, and any building or place which is for the time being used for any public or religious meeting, or assembly or as an open court. " P u b l i c l y " when applied to acts done means either:— ( a ) that they are so done i n any public place as to be seen by any person whether such person be or be not in a public place ; or ( b ) that they are so done i n any place not being a public place as to be likely to be seen by a person i n a public place. "Publish":— (a) i n the case of spoken words, means to utter words or reproduce words by mechanical means at a public gathering, or i n a public street or any other place to which the public has access, or i n such a way that they may be heard by persons i n any such street or place; (6) i n the case of writings, drawings, pictures, photo­ graphs or images, means to distribute them to a number of persons, or exhibit them i n such a way that they may be seen b y persons i n a public street or i n any other place to which the public has access, or to sell or expose or offer them for sale i n any place. " U t t e r " means and includes using or dealing w i t h and attempting to use or deal with and attempting to induce any person to use, deal with or act upon the thing i n question.
