Chapter Two Exposing Children to Danger Article 268 Imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years and a fine not exceeding ten thousand Qatari Riyals (10.000QR), or one of these two penalties, shall apply to any person who takes a newly born child away of his parents, hides or exchanges him with another baby or falsely attributes him to parents other than his own parents. Imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year and a fine not exceeding three thousand Qatari Riyals (3.000QR) or one of these two penalties shall apply if it is proven that the baby is born dead. Article 269 Whoever jeopardizes a person under sixteen or a person incapable of protecting himself due to his mental, psychological or health conditions shall be punished with imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years and/or a fine not exceeding ten thousand Qatari Riyals (QR 10.000). The penalty shall be up to three years in prison and/or a fine up to fifteen thousand Qatari Riyals (15.000QR), if the person is left alone in a deserted place or if the guardian is the offender. Chapter Three Drinking, Gambling and Begging Article 270 Whoever drinks any alcoholic beverages in a public place or opens a store or a house to trade in alcoholics shall be punished with imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months and/or a fine not exceeding three thousand Qatari Riyals (QR 3.000). The same penalty shall apply to any person who is found drunk on a main road or, being intoxicated disturbs others. Article 271 Whoever gives a person under sixteen years of age an alcoholic beverage or incites him to drink alcohol Imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years and/or a fine not exceeding ten thousand Qatari Riyals (QR 10.000). Article 272 Whoever imports, exports, makes, extracts or produces alcohol or alcoholic beverages shall be punished with imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years and a fine not exceeding ten thousand Qatari Riyals (QR 10.000).
