This petition was filed as a result of the Cameroonian government's two internet shutdowns in the country's English-speaking regions—South-West and North-West. In its finding, the Court cited Section 47(2) of the Cameroonian Constitution as justification for its conclusion that the petition was filed by an individual who is not among those authorized to submit cases to the Constitutional Court. The President of the Republic, the President of the National Assembly, the President of the Senate, one-third of the members of the National Assembly or one-third of the Senators, and the Presidents of Regional Executives are the only individuals permitted to bring petitions to the Court under this section. Therefore, the Supreme Court, acting as the Constitutional Court, dismissed the petition.
