Hong Kong Bill of Rights Ordinance Part II 2-2 Section 8 Cap. 383 Part II The Hong Kong Bill of Rights 8. Hong Kong Bill of Rights The Hong Kong Bill of Rights is as follows. Article 1 Entitlement to rights without distinction (1) The rights recognized in this Bill of Rights shall be enjoyed without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. (2) Men and women shall have an equal right to the enjoyment of all civil and political rights set forth in this Bill of Rights. [cf. ICCPR Arts. 2 & 3] Article 2 Right to life (1) Every human being has the inherent right to life. This right shall be protected by law. No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his life. (2) Sentence of death may be imposed only for the most serious crimes in accordance with the law in force at the time of the Verified Copy Last updated date 15.2.2017
