Al An magazine published an article which reported that the Islamist minister of industries hosted a lavish dinner during an official trip abroad that was paid for with public money. The court found Jajili, the editor of Al An, guilty of defamation and sentenced him to imprisonment and a fine. In the civil suit, Jajili had to pay a symbolic damage award, and he also had to share the juridical decision in 4 newspapers. Jajili's lawyer said he would appeal the decision.
