Case Summary: The Supreme Court of Cambodia upheld a defamation conviction against Sam Rainsy, then President of Cambodia's main opposition party which is now dissolved. Rainsy, who is now in exile, had been convicted in abstentia of defamation by a Municipal Court for a video he had posted on Facebook accompanied by a comment. The comment had noted that late King Father Norodom Sihanouk had been sentenced to death by being accused as a traitor.
