Information and Communication Technology Act , No. 27 of 2003 3 PART II NATIONAL COMMITTEE ON INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND COMMUNICATION 5. (1) There shall be a National Committee on Information and Communication Technology (hereinafter referred to as “the Committee”). (2) The Committee shall consist of— (a) the Minister, who shall preside at all meetings of the Committee ; (b) The Minister in charge of the subject of Telecommunications ; (c) the Minister in charge of the subject of Education ; (d) the Minister in charge of the subject of Higher Education ; (e) the Minister in charge of the subject of Public Administration ; (f) such number of members in respect of each category of stakeholders, as is determined by the Cabinet of Ministers taking into consideration the needs of the Information and Communication Technology industry. Such members shall be appointed by the respective Ministers. (3) The Committee shall be charged with the task of discussing policies, preparation of programmes and plans for Information and Communication Technology and for periodic review of its implementation.
