Law No. 13 of the Year 2016 Promulgating the Protection of the Privacy of Personal Data Law We, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, The Emir of the State of Qatar, After perusal of the Constitution, and The Law on Telecommunications as enacted by virtue of the Law No 34 of the year 2006, and The Law on Electronic Transactions and E-Commerce as enacted by virtue of the Law No 16 of the year 2010, and The Law No 2 of the year 2011 on Official Statistics, as amended by virtue of the Law No 4 of the year 2015, and The Law on Combating Cybercrimes, as enacted by virtue of the Law No 14 of the year 2014, and The Emiri Decree No 42 of the year 2014 on Establishing the Communication Regulatory Authority, and The Emiri Decree No 8 of the year 2016 on the Organizational Structure of the Ministry of Transport and Communication, and The Proposal submitted by the Minister of Transport and Communication, and The Bill submitted by the Council of Ministers, and Having consulted the Shura Council, We hereby decree as follows: Chapter One Definitions and General Provisions Article 1 For purposes of implementing the present Law, the following words and terms shall have the meanings assigned thereto unless the context requires otherwise: The Ministry The Ministry of Transport and Communication.
