3. How do I make a PAIA request?
A request for access to information can be made to both public and private bodies. The
person making the request is known as the “requester”, and has a right of access to certain
types of records held by both public and private institutions, companies or bodies. PAIA
details different ways of accessing information from either a public or private body, and
provides at the end of the Act the forms that are to be used by requesters to submit an
information request.
