The Cybersecurity Law of the People's Republic of China, adopted at the 24th Session of the Standing
Committee of the 12th National People's Congress on November 7, 2016, is hereby promulgated and shall
come into force as of June 1, 2017.

Article 1 The Cybersecurity Law of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the "Law") is
formulated for the purposes of ensuring cybersecurity, safeguarding cyberspace sovereignty, national
security and public interests, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of citizens, legal persons and other
organizations, and promoting the healthy development of economic and social informatization.
