A n y person who carries i n public without lawful occasion any offensive arm or weapon i n such a manner as to cause terror to any person, is guilty of a misdemeanour, and his arms or weapons shall be forfeited. Carrying arms to terrorise. 90. A n y person who imports, or i n any district, area or place to which the provisions of this section have been applied by the H i g h Commissioner, manufactures, sells, offers or exposes for sale or wears or carries a dagger, is guilty of a misdemeanour. Daggers. ‫־‬91. A n y person who, i n any district, area or place to which the provisions of this section have been applied by the H i g h Commis­ sioner, wears or carries any knife outside his own house and premises, is guilty of a misdemeanour and is liable to imprison­ ment for one year : Knives. Provided that no person shall be deemed to have committed an offence against this section if he shall prove that he was wearing or carrying such knife outside his own house and premises for •some lawful purpose, for which purpose a knife was necessary : Provided also that the District Superintendent of Police of the district i n which the person was found to be carrying or wearing the knife, i n his discretion, having regard to all the circumstances of the case, may direct that no proceedings shall be instituted under this section. 92. T h e officer i n charge of any police station or post may cause anv person suspected of carrving a dagger or knife i n contravention of the provisions of this Code to be searched and may detain any such dagger or knife. Power to detain daggers and knives. 93. N o t h i n g i n this Code shall prevent any person from carrying a clasp-knife, provided that it has not a blade of more than ten centimetres i n length whether ending i n a sharp point or not, and further that it is not so constructed as to be convertible by means of a spring or otherwise into a dagger or knife w i t h a fixed blade. Clasp-knives. 94. A n y dagger or knife i n respect to w h i c h any person has been convicted for a breach of this Code shall be forfeited. Forfeiture. 95. I n this chapter :— Definitions. " A p p l i e d by the H i g h Commissioner" means applied by the H i g h Commissioner-in-Council by order published i n the Gazette. " D a g g e r " includes any sword, or any knife or other i n ­ strument having a blade ending i n a sharp point, and which is not primarily designed for use i n a profession, craft or busi­ ness, or for domestic use : Provided that any such sword, knife or other instrument when worn or carried by any person shall be deemed to be a dagger w i t h i n the meaning of this chapter unless it is primarily designed for use i n a profession, craft or business exercised or carried on by such person or for domes­ tic use, and is being worn or carried by such person for the purpose of its use i n such profession, craft or business, or for domestic use. " K n i f e " includes any instrument, not being a dagger, hav­ i n g a blade, whether ending i n a sharp point or not. 96.
