998 THÉ PALESTINE GAZETTE 28th September, 1936 giving the property or conferring the benefit, or any one i n whom that person is interested, i n any transaction then pending, or likely to take place, between the person giving the property or conferring the benefit, or any one i n whom he is interested, and any person employed i n the public service, is guilty of a misdemeanour, and is liable to imprisonment for two years or to a fine of one hundred pounds or to both such penalties. Officers charged with administration of property of a special character or with special duties. 110. —(1) A n y person who, being employed i n the public service, and being charged by virtue of his employment w i t h any judicial or administrative duties respecting properties of a special character, or respecting the carrying on of any manufacture, trade or business of a special character, and having acquired or holding, directly or indirectly, a private interest i n any such property, manufacture, trade or business, discharges any such duties w i t h respect to the property, manufacture, trade or business, i n which he has such interest or w i t h respect to the conduct of any person i n relation thereto, is guilty of a misdemeanour, and is liable to imprisonment for one year. (2) A prosecution for any offence under this section shall not be instituted except by or with the consent of the AttorneyGeneral. False claims by officials. 111. —(1) A n y person who, being employed i n the public service i n such a capacity as to require h i m or to enable h i m to furnish returns or statements touching any sum payable or claimed to be payable to himself or to any other person or touching any other matter required to be certified for the purpose of any payment of money or delivery of goods to be made to any person, makes a return or statement touching any such matter which is, to his knowledge, false i n any material particular, is guilty of a misdemeanour. (2) A prosecution for any offence under this section shall not be instituted except by or w i t h the consent of the AttorneyGeneral. Abuse of office. 112. —(1) A n y person who, service:— being employed i n the public ( a ) does or directs to be done, i n abuse of the authority of his office, any arbitrary act prejudicial to the rights of another; or (b) enters the residence of any person against his w i l l i n cases other •than those authorised by law, or without observing the formalities prescribed by l a w ; is guilty of a misdemeanour and is liable to imprisonment for two years. (2) A prosecution for any offence under this section shall not be instituted except by or w i t h the consent of the AttorneyGeneral. False certificates. False assumption of authority. 113. A n y person who, being authorised or required by law to give any certificate touching any matter by virtue whereof the rights of any person may be prejudicially affected, gives a certificate w h i c h is, to his knowledge, false i n any material particular, is guilty of a misdemeanour. 114. A n y person who :— (a) not being a judicial officer, assumes to act as a judicial officer; or
