A n y person who, with intent to commit or to facilitate the commission of a felony or misdemeanour, or to facilitate the flight of an offender after the commission or attempted commission of a felony or misdemeanour, administers or attempts to administer any stupefying or overpowering drug or thing to any person, is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for life. Stupefying in order to commit felony or misdemeanour. 235. A n y person who, w i t h intent to disfigure or disable any person, or to do some grievous harm to any person, or to resist or prevent the lawful arrest or detention of himself or any other person :— Acts intended to cause grievous harm or prevent arrests. (a) unlawfully wounds or does any grievous harm person by any means whatever; or to any ( b ) unlawfully attempts i n any manner to strike any person w i t h any kind of projectile or w i t h a knife, or other dangerous or offensive weapon ; or (c) unlawfully causes any explosive substance to explode ; or ( d ) sends or delivers any explosive substance dangerous or noxious thing to any person ; or ( e ) causes any such substance received by any person; or or thing or other to be taken or (/) puts any corrosive fluid or any destructive or explosive substance i n any place ; or (g) unlawfully casts or throws any such fluid or substance at or upon any person, or otherwise applies any such fluid or substance to the person of any person ; is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for life. 236. A n y person who unlawfully :— (a) prevents or obstructs any person who is on board of, or is escaping from a vessel which is i n distress or wrecked, i n his endeavours to save his l i f e ; or Preventing escape from wreck. (b) obstructs any person i n his endeavours to save the life of any person so situated; is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for life . 237. A n y person who, with intent to injure or to endanger the safety of any person travelling by any railway ,whether a particular person 01' not :— Intentionally safc>ty of g rmg persons travelling, by (a) places anything on the r a i l w a y ; or (b) railway. deals w i t h the railway, or with anything whatever upon or near the railway, i n such a manner as to affect or endanger the free and safe use of the railway or the safety of any such person ; o r (c) shoots or throws anything at, into or upon, or causes anything to come into contact w i t h , any person or thing on the railway ; o r ( d ) shows any light or signal, or i n any way deals w i t h any existing light or signal, upon or near the r a i l w a y ; or (e) by any omission to do any act w h i c h it is his duty to do causes the safety of any such person to be endangered; is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for life. 238. A n y person who unlawfully does grievous harm to another is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for seven years. Grievous harm,
