AN ACT to promote maximum disclosure of information in the
public interest, to guarantee and facilitate the right of access
to information and to provide for effective mechanisms to
secure that right.

ENACTED by the Parliament of Antigua and Barbuda as
follows:
PRELIMINARY
1. This Act may be cited as the Freedom of Information Act,
2004 and, shall come into operation on a date appointed by the
Minister by Notice published in the Gazette.
2. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires "Commissioner" means the Information Commissioner,
appointed pursuant to Part V;
