Alaan Magazine published an article which reported that the Islamist minister of industries hosted a lavish dinner during an official trip abroad that was paid for with public money. The court found Jajili, the editor, guilty of defamation and sentenced him to 2 months imprisonment and a fine. In the civil suit, Jajili had to pay a symbolic damage award, and he also had to share the juridical decision in 4 newspapers.
