Definitions.-<1) ln this Acr, unless there is anyhing rEpugnanr in the subject or contexl. (a) "Authority" means the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority established under section 3 of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Ar[horily Ordinarce, 2002 (XII] of2002); (b) "Board" meand the National Policy Board estabhshed under section 5; (c) 'broadcast media" means such media which originatc and propagate broadcast and prcrccorded signals by tenestrial means or tfuough sarellire for television and includes lcteponing, provision of access to broadcast signals by chaonel providers and such other forms of broadcast media as the Authority may, wilh the apprcval ofthe Government, by notification in the official Gazette, sp€cifJ; (d) 'Cable TV" mcarls reception of broadcast and prerecorded signals from different channels and thcir distribution tiaubscribers tfuough a set ofclosed transmission; (e) "channel" means thc sct ol frequencies that a broadcast station occupies for broadcasting; (f) 'Division concemcd" means the Division to which the business this Act shall slands allocated; (g) "electronic media" includes the broadcast media and distribulion of servicest (h) (i) (j) "Covemment" means thc ljcdcml Govemment; "media" means communication used regularly For broadcasting of information and expression of views and opinions through electronic media incloding stare sponsored and privare telcvision channels for the purpose oflhis Acq "member" means Chairperson; a member of the Boad and includcs the
