1004 28th September, 1936 Instigation to the non-payment of notified liability. 145.—(1) A n y person who by words either spoken or written, or by signs, or by visible representations, or otherwise, instigates expressly or by implication any person, or class of persons, not to pay or to defer payment of any notified liability, and any person who does any act with intent or knowing it to be likely that any words, signs or visible representations containing such instigation shall thereby be communicated directly or indirectly to any person or class of persons i n any manner whatsoever, is guilty of a mis­ demeanour, and is liable to imprisonment for six months, or to a fine of fifty pounds, or to both such penalties. (2) F o r the purposes of this section "notified l i a b i l i t y " means any liability notified by the H i g h Commissioner-in‫־‬Council by a notice i n the G a z e t t e . Division III.—Offences injurious to the Public in general. C H A P T E R XVI. O F F E N C E S RELATING TO R E L I G I O N A N D P U B L I C MONUMENTS. Insult to religion of any class. 146. A n y person who destroys, damages or defiles any place of worship or any object which is held sacred by any class of persons w i t h the intention of thereby insulting the religion of any class of persons, or w i t h the knowledge that any class of persons is likely to consider such destruction, damage or defilement as an insult to their religion, is guilty of a misdemeanour. Disturbing reli­ gious worship. 147. A n y person who wilfully and without lawful justification or excuse, the proof of which lies on h i m , disturbs u n y meeting of persons lawfully assembled for religious worship, or assaults any person lawfully officiating at any such meeting, or any of the persons there assembled, is guilty of a misdemeanour and is liable to imprisonment for two months or to a fine of twenty pounds. Trespassing on burial places. 148. E v e r y person, who with the intention of wounding the feelings of any person and of insulting the religion of any person, or with the knowledge that the feelings of any person are likely to be wounded, or that the religion of any person is likely to be insulted thereby, commits any trespass i n any place of worship or i n any place of sepulture or i n any place set apart for the performance of funeral rites or as a depository for the remains of the dead, or offers any indignity to any human corpse, or causes disturbance to any persons assembled for the purpose of funeral ceremonies, is guilty of a misdemeanour. Outrage to re­ ligious feelings. 149. A n y person who :— ( a ) publishes any print, writing, picture or effigy calculated or tending to outrage the religious feelings or belief of other persons; ( b ) utters i n a public place and i n the hearing of another person any word or sound calculated or tending to outrage the religious feelings or belief of such other person; is guilty of a misdemeanour and is liable to imprisonment for one year. Destroying or damaging public buildings and monuments. 150. A n y person who demolishes, destroys, pulls down or damages any building or monument intended for public use or ornament, is guilty of a. misdemeanour.
