28th September, 1936 1005 CHAPTER XVII. O F F E N C E S AGAINST MORALITY. 151. F o r the purpose of this chapter any house, room or set of rooms i n any house which is occupied or frequented by two or more females for the purpose of prostitution shall be deemed to be a brothel. 152.—(1) A n y person who :( a ) has unlawful sexual intercourse w i t h a female against her w i l l by the use of force or threats of death or severe bodily h a r m , or when she is i n a state of unconsciousness or otherwise incapable of resisting; or Interpretation of brothel, Sexual and unnatural offences. ( b ) commits an act of sodomy with any person against his w i l l by the use of force or threats of death or severe bodily h a r m , or when he is i n a state of unconsciousness or otherwise incapable of resisting; or (c) has unlawful sexual intercourse or commits an act of sodomy w i t h a child under the age of sixteen years, is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for fourteen years: Provided that it shall be a sufficient defence to any charge of having unlawful sexual intercourse w ith a female under paragraph (c) of this sub-section if it shall be made to appear to the court before which the charge shall be brought that the person so charged had reasonable cause to believe that the female was of or above the age of sixteen years. T (2) A n y person w h o : — ( a ) has carnal knowledge of any person against the order of nature; or (6) has carnal knowledge of an a n i m a l ; or (c) permits a male person to have carnal knowledge of h i m or her against the order of nature, is guilty of a felony, and is liable to imprisonment for ten years. 153. A n y person who has unlawful sexual intercourse w i t h a female w h o m he knows to be insane or imbecile, or w i t h a female whose consent has been obtained by threats or deception as to the nature of the act or as to the person committing i t , is guilty of a felony, and is liable to imprisonment for ten years. Eape by deception. 154. A n y person attempting to commit an offence under either of the two preceding sections is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for seven years. Attempt to commit rape, etc. 155. A n y person who has unlawful sexual intercourse, or aids or abets another to have such intercourse, w i t h an unmarried girl who is above the age of sixteen and under the age of twentyone years and is his descendant or the descendant of his wife, or is his ward, or has been entrusted to h i m for the purpose of education or supervision, is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for five years. Illicit relation with unmarried girl. 156. —(1) A n y person who, being married to a girl under the age of fifteen years completed:— Intercourse by husband with girl under fifteen years. (a) has sexual intercourse w i t h her, or
